The name Live Stage MarnixThe name is based on historical facts. The stage started in a buildig that used to house the "Marnix College" in Ede. This highschool took its name from "Phillippe de Marnix, seigneur de Sainte-Aldegonde" (1540-1598). He was a Dutch writer, politician, scientist, and aide to Willem van Oranje, founding father of the Dutch royal family. Marnix is mostly remembered as the author of the "Wilhelmus", the Dutch National Anthem. In that capacity he may be considered as the first Dutch singer-songwriter, though little is known on the quality of his vocals Singer-songwriters on Live Stage Marnix."Thank you so much for such a wonderful evening in Ede.
